Sue is a solicitor and the founder of Aeon Solicitors. She holds a Bachelor of Science Honours degree from Leeds University and undertook her law studies at The University of North London and The College of Law. Prior to entering the legal profession she worked for multi-national corporations in marketing and research. With her rounded academic background and work experience, she has a sound business acumen and a reputation for providing pragmatic advice and solutions.
Sue advises microenterprises, small and medium-sized business and charities, as well as directors, executives, employees, freelancers and consultants.
Sue has expertise in all aspects of employment law including employment contracts and conditions of employment, performance and conduct disputes (disciplinary and grievance), sickness and other workplace issues, and enforcement of post-termination restrictions. She regularly advises on the lawfulness of termination of employment, exit packages and settlement agreements (settlements up to and including seven-digit in the finance sector).
Her advice to employers is frequently aimed at minimising risk, such as guidance regarding job interview procedure, business transfer and change of service provider, data protection and references. She assists her corporate clients on how to manage restructures and redundancy programmes, disciplinary and incapacity issues, and negotiated exits.
For her portfolio of commercial clients Sue advises on trading issues; negotiating deals, drafting bespoke agreements and providing practical guidance when difficulties arise.
Corporate sectors served include manufacturing and retail, education, IT, food, property development and agency, and a range of professional firms (legal, accountancy, architecture and surveying).
