Employees with two or more years’ service are entitled to receive a statutory redundancy payment on the termination of their employment.
The amount of statutory redundancy pay depends on the employee’s age, length of continuous service (between 2 and 20 years worked) and salary, and is made on the following basis:
A week’s pay is the employee’s gross pay subject to a statutory maximum.
Some employees, such as civil servants, fall outside the statutory redundancy payments scheme.
